Update
"Think it - do it". It's my new motto. Instead of putting things off, do them as soon as I think of them if possible. Otherwise the day goes by and I don't get anything done because something else always comes up. Good thing I walk around with a cell phone because a lot of things can be coordinated or planned with that handy tool.
I did the following on my "to do" list yesterday:
1. Called Katy and reconnected. Got her to e-mail me cookie recipes because hers are so awesome. We're looking for a play date now.
2. Got to Oak Grove and filled out paper work with my "permission to sign" in hand. Yay!
3. Picked up contact lenses.
4. Got coolant for my car and topped off. Never done that before, so I was feeling very "empowered". It took me a few minutes to figure out how to pop the hood over the engine because I've never done that before. Yes, I've owned the car for 18 months now, but .... what? I drive it, I don't fiddle under the hood. Thankfully the coolant light went off.
5. Started the older one on the nebulizer last night. He's got bronchitis again.
This morning:
I got up early, but went into work early instead of to the gym. I'm intending to get off early and visit the gym on my way home.
1. Got some updates in on the website before being kicked off.
2. Dragged all the laundry baskets downstairs for the laundry-palooza tonight.
Forthcoming:
Lunchtime:
1. Scan handouts.
2. Sort electronic scans into two sets: those that are PDF and those that need to be converted. See if co-worker X will let me use his workstation to convert the various word files to PDF. If not, send to work with spouse tomorrow.
3. Eat lunch.
Tonight:
1. Edit class catalogs and print out a bunch for BART & Mission.
2. Update website. Apparently there are some formatting issues, too, on some folks screens. It's all new technology to me, so I'll putter on it after the kids are in bed. Well, until the 2nd or 3rd boot from the system. I can only go through the log-off and log-on routine so many times before I'm emotionally done with something.
Further down the road:
1. I'm trying to network with Caid Collegium. I would like to volunteer for their spring event and see what they do.
2. I'm grooming some collegium deputies to take over so I can step down with a good conscience. I don't want to leave a void, although I want to continue to volunteer and help out. Helping is good: many hands make work light. But more importantly, continuity is also good.
3. I think I'd like to do some volunteer work in my community when my collegium stint is over and spread my energy to some needy senior citizens or something. I've done volunteer work in my local elderly care facilities off and on for decades and my internal compass is starting to point towards my local community again.
4. I can't help feeling like my time for creativity has been choked off by doing Collegium. I'm looking forward to reinvesting in my creativity next year.
