Cartoonsss

Having kids is a good excuse to use when you seem to know too much about cartoons. That way people think it's the kids in the house and not the adults choosing the cartoons. I just got a CD of cartoon theme songs and I've got "Magilla Gorilla" and "Peter potamus" stuck in my brain.

I should be ready for the next improptu cartoon tune triva contest in a few weeks.

"We really hate to tell you but we have to be off,
we mean to say it's time for us to go -
But we know ..." (Peter Potamus Curtain Call)

When you're threatened by a stranger,

whenever you are in danger,
when it looks like you will take a likkin'!

I'm just not up on modern ones...

Square and Yellow!

Who lives in a pineapple under the sea
Chorus: Sponge Bob Square Pants
Absorbant and yellow and porous is he
Chorus: Sponge Bob Square Pants
If Nautical nonsense is something you wish
then jump on the deck and flop like a fish
Chorus: Sponge Bob Square Pants, Sponge Bob Square Pants, ...

... And I live with the modern cartoons every week. Particularly the Nickolodean ones.

No Kidding! Cartoons sure are different from when I was growing up. Fortunately, the DVD craze means I can get the original run of Scooby Doo, so it's not all Nick, etc. What I find interesting (now that I've been comparing cartoons from my youth and today's cartoons) is that today's cartoons are more sophisticated, faster paced, but often have some message about actions and consequences. That message isn't always present in the cartoons I grew up in ... well, unless you're a crook, in which case some meddling kids will probably stop you. hahahaha!
