10 items taking up my brain space

It's the same old stuff...

1. my sewing muse is on hiatus. boo! Not finishing persians for Crown because I can't "see" them. If you need that explained, then I can't help you. Insteady I am making some early period linen stuff so I can survive the heat. I will bring older silk Persian stuff... it's just that.. sniff sniff.. I wanted something new. Oh well. I can't see it and I usually hate the end result when I force-march myself onwards. So changing tracks.

2. My house was invaded by matriarchs over the weekend. I'm more tired than I was Friday after work. ... and that's saying something; I slept from 4pm to 8pm after work on Friday from shear exhaustion. I'm more tired than THAT!!! My mom made a to-do list for me. My mo-in-law was so full of energy and zip, I wanted to take a nap.

3. Season tix to Cal Shakes started out with a bang. Richard III rocked. Bummed that I geeked on the start time and missed first 20 minutes. THAT won't happen again. My compatriots are lots of fun. I forsee improved coordination and a good time for the next 3 plays.

4. My job is sucking away my enthusiasm for work... I start to droop as I get closer to the tunnel. I shuffle and drag my feet to the 9 am meeting. At 3pm I start watching the clock. Grrr... I need to get out of this mental zone.

5. I really really liked PoTC. I even liked the ending. But I've never subscribed to "life is fair".

6. My weight loss has plateaued over the last 2 months. I'm VERY frustrated.

7. As a result of No. 6, I am changing out my fitness program. Serious overhaul starting this week. I am still working on details, but plan to post and geek with my fellow fitness geeks in the crowd.

8. As of No. 6, I'm up to 7-9 fruit/ veg a day. I also determined today that my "weight watchers Points" were too high by 2 pts. Apparently due to my b-day (i.e. AGING!!) and my weight loss, I'm giving myself 2 more points than I should ... hmm... might be contributing factor to no. 6, but not 100%.

9. Despite No. 6, I was able to zip up a skirt that I've been too fat for since 1990. No Shit! I didn't have to hold my breath, scrunch in my waist or ribs, or do any weird contortions. It's one of those really high-waisted totally 80's skirts... straight to knees, but fitted over butt, hips, waist and goes as high up as ribs. It's officially out of the "I might be able to wear this again one day"-box and it's hanging with my work clohthes. I'm going to wear it later this week. ha! (thumbs nose at calibrated weight scale)

10. As a result of No. 6 and 7, I got some exercise bands and a fitness ball to play around with. I was able to watch some work DVD footage in my office (gee, air flow... my fav cure for insomnia) while simultaneously working on biceps, triceps and military press. Woot! Also, it's not as easy as I assumed it would be. I am humbled by the elastic band. My triceps are humbled, too. I will be developing a routine around these this week and then drag all this stuff to Crown for an early AM work out Saturday and Sunday. :-D This will come in use when we do the extended family camping in Oregon, too... And I will have to get a 2nd band/ball so I can keep one at work and one at home. It's very addictive.
