I bought my membership to the conference and I'm going.

Costume Colloquium in Florence, Fall 2008

It was not straight forward because it looks like they only accept VISA and if you e-mail them with queries, they recommend you talk to your financial institution. sigh. But my bank and I figured it out and now I am the proud owner of a new, shiney membership to a Textile Colloquium in Florence.

I'm going to Italy in 7 months! But I'm flying into Paris first to spend a week working my way down there via train.

Ditto the glyph, but instead of Portugal, we'll be in Cape Breton and then Berlin (assuming the dollar doesn't completely tank).

Take *lots* of notes. I'd love to go, but right now it's still very much unclear as to whether or not I'll get laid off. I still don't have a contract to work on, and the year is progressing. :-(

I tried to nudge your prettier half into going, but she is insisting that fiscal responsibility will not permit it. So I suggested 2 extra boxes of Luna bars for breakfast AND lunch... she laughed, but said no. Which is a bummer... she'd be a ton of fun to travel with.
