I can't find my happy.

I have physical, mental and spiritual pain today. Without going into it (because I really really don't want to vent about people I love and I'm not really interested in whining), I'm not finding my happy.

So tell me your happy.

Before anyone thinks I'm fishing for love, I'm not. Intellectually, I know that I'll be fine. I don't live in a war-torn country and I don't have to worry about feeding my family. I'm fine. I even have plans for self-medication throughout the day; the first being I'm going to take a HUGE dose of painkillers, leave work around 4pm, and go running.

But share some happy. I'd like to hear about someone else's sunshiney stuff. Something optimistic and chipper to keep my brain occupied this weekend since I'll be working on keeping my mouth shut and my game face on. Nothing is too trivial; if you are excited about finally getting to a patch of weeds, a particular house project or even that dreaded seam-ripping task that you are relieved to be digging into. Some great shopping trip or new i-tune that you just love.

Bring on the happy.

PPS: I have 2 bosses. There is the one that entered the triathlon and the "other" boss (who simultaneously reports to my Tri-boss). He just proved today that not only is he funny, smart, and good at what he does, but a caring person to his staff. I win. Now if only the dang pain killers would kick in before I have to lead another tour through the locker room in my underwear in 10 minutes.

Last night, a miracle occurred. I was making cheese triangles and I ran out of cheese-mix and phyllo dough at the same time. I've made this recipe several times and it has _never_ worked so perfectly. This morning, when I got to the office, there were still raspberries on the bribe-to-come-to-the-office Friday fruit tray (all gone now, muhahahaha!). I'm looking forward to watching Dr Who tonight and going to a party on Sunday.

ahhh... my favorite place to decompress is near the ocean. there is no shore quite like half-moon bay coastal area for me; rocky, cold, windy, slate grey and full of awesome, crushing power. I loved climbing out the rock wall in Princeton...

mmmm... have a great time at whichever beach you end up at. Mentally, I'm right there with you.

My green silk sleeves are almost done, AND I put them together right too! Yay!

Edit - and I had sexy time dreams about the boy I really really like. He rubbed tattoo ointment on my back.

the basil grows. THE other seeds have sprouted. Much work was done on the domicile while I wasn't here. My bedroom is a sanctuary! Bathroom, too.

ANd I have friends who have made losing weight cool who now go exercise for fun. JUst the sort of friends I need!

I have identified the mathematically perfect arrangement for 50 candles on a birthday cake. I will be using my graduated set of cake pans to make a four tier confection (bottom layer = chocolate, 2nd layer = spice, 3rd layer = plain vanilla, top layer = TBA). The top layer will have 5 candles, the next will have 10, the next 15, and the bottom layer will have 20.

Only you could find the mathematically perfect arrangement for 50 candles on a birthday cake. I can't wait to see it. :-)

I have FIVE Robert Downey Jr. movies to watch this weekend!! I have the theme to Snakes on a Plane on my ipod and it gets played over and over.

My friend & her kids are coming in tomorrow afternoon, and after hanging out and watching DW and going out for dinner, we (she & me & the older daughter) are going to see Vienna Teng in San Francisco while my next-door neighbors hang out with the younger two.

And I stopped by Julie's yesterday to borrow some movies, and Amanda came running up to the car yelling, "AUNTIE LISA!" and when I left, she said, "Bye Auntie Lisa I luv you mwaaa" and blew a kiss. OMG TOO CUTE!!!!!!!!! She's chattering like mad! I can only understand about 15% of it, but OMG CUTE!!

My current happy is my little dog play with his best doggie buddy. We're puppysitting for the weekend and I get all little kidlike watching the "puppies" play; they're very cute. So I'm getting my happy now while the hubby is at work, two dogs in the house makes him crazy. One of my happys from the weekend was playing with Freddie and Super N; Great fun kids!

I haven't eaten the open bag of chips roommate has left in my line of sight. Although i haven't reached the first of my weight loss goals I have been celebrating the fact that I have energy during the day !

Ohhh and roommate is going to be away for an ENTIRE week house sitting for his folks :) We'll have our house back to ourselves for a bit, hurray!!

I have friends coming in to visit this weekend and we're going to Cedar Point, which has been described as the best amusement park on earth. We will ride roller coasters until we puke. You have my word.

Also, the last of the sheet-rock work on my sewing room is being done tonight, which is one step closer to being able to unpack my sewing stuff!

Cedar Point rocks! And the most bizarre thing is running around riding roller coasters and standing in line with all these plain-dressed Menonite teenagers, who are having just as much fun.

My boss has a lot of Cedar Fair (FUN) and they used to send us coupons for being shareholders. Didn't get any this year ;( but if they do again, I'll send them your way.

Wednesday sucked, but yesterday my boss gave me my review, and it was great! So I'm happy.

Spring semester is over!! No school for two weeks!! One year done!! (Not that I'm excited about this or anything.)

All the chunks of juniper hedge are FINALLY gone from my side yard where they have been piled up for several years and making a nice home for a few small critters. Now I can organize that area at last, which will involve laying in concrete pavers in an 8'0" x 34" space next to the fence and then moving the firewood away from the house.

And today at work I completed a contract negotiation that had been going on for 3! months. Much relief that now I just have to wait for the signed originals and I'll be done with it.

In exactly one week I will be sitting down for dinner at Club 33 with my awesome friends!

Got up, had tasty Whole Foods brunch!
Cheap CDs at Rasputin music!
Stopped at the goat farm and played with goaties!
Went to the beach with shutterg33k and derek72!
Played with starfish and unis (I can't remember the other word for them)!
Had fresh blackberry and strawberry cobbler!
Got fresh strawberries, cherries and apricots!
Spending the evening surfing teh interwebs!
Yay!
