Three Bears Bike Ride, Sunday June 29, 8:30 am

Edit: start time 8:30

Details:
Meet Orinda BART station 8am. (to beat the heat of the day) Ride will end at Concord BART station.
Distance: unknown. I haven't got new comp on my bike yet and right now it's decided I need to know time, not trip mileage.
Duration: The ride took me 2.5 hrs last time.
Difficulty: hard to say. I don't consider myself anything other than beginner, but I'm mulish and there are some hills. Taking San Pablo to Bear Creek Rd and turn right onto Bear Creek. There are 3 longish hills at moderate grade (i.e. not as gentle as rolling hills but no switch backs). Then miles of riding. Then the short steep hill that has a pig farm on it. (I didn't see pigs, I'm taking everyone else's word on this). Pretty easy from there out.

Bring water. I had 1 water bottle last time and found I wished I had a bit more at the end. Recommend a snack, too.

Helmet required by law.

No earphones.

Bring spare tube and/or patch kit.

Recommend you carry ID, credit card and some cash.

We'll wait at the top of hills for stragglers and let them catch their breath before we move onward.

Are you dead set on 8am? Could I weasel an extra half an hour out of you?

sure! Just be aware it will probably get very warm. Aminah suggested we make a loop, which cuts out Pig Farm Hill (the heart-breaker is what I call it).

So I'll re-update this on Thursday.. but 8:30 sounds good
