Wet and cold

I'm doing "real" engineering. That must be why I'm wet and cold. I've been testing emergency safety showers and eyewashes. The "shower curtain" gizmo on the hoop&stick was only mostly helpful. I had to juggle that and a stop watch at the same time while leaning back to keep an eye on the water level in the 50 gallon tank because it would fill much faster than the desired 20 gpm. On the third shower, the gizmo slipped and a jet of water shot 10 feet to land directly on my wool coat, the paper I was recording results on and my fanny pack. What are the odds?

sigh.

The gizmo slipped the rest of the way and I got nuked. I think the hard-hat deflected a lot of the water, but I'm a cold, shivering mess.

Soup and warm jammies sound really good right now.

Warm thoughts to you!! I spent the day shivering in my office in front of a space heater. (I think my thyroid is off again.)
Would not have wanted wet, too. Hope it's better now...
