Annoyed: Credit Cards got jacked

threadwalkerWe got a call from our Credit Card agent yesterday. On Saturday someone (and it wasn't us) used our main CC to purchase a pre-paid phone card. I understand pre-paid phone cards are the scam-d'jour so it's odd to be included in the elite club, "Victims of the Scam D'Jour". We aren't sure how they got the numbers and there's plenty of opportunity to get that info; we were on vacation recently and could have been scammed by a clerk with a double swipe, I know there have been on -line transactions, there's sifting through our trash, etc.
Anyway, it's a pain in the butt, the card is on hold and about to be cancelled. On the "happy" side, it was caught VERY quickly. Kudos to the perky credit card lady who called us at home on Sunday.
(fall out: my CoH account and gym membership both bill to that CC... both of my crack drugs might be on hold... if you see a mushroom cloud over Concord, you'll know I went nuclear without the outlets that channel and burn off my excess intensity.)
