On the other hand, the kids continue to crack me up and make me proud. The only pressure there is the pressure I put on myself.

Upon arriving at Erinwood, I inform them we will make a round of "hello's" before we set up camp.

Miss E, "But I'm shy. Do I have to talk to everyone?"
Super N, "E, you just need to face your fears."

It's so hard to keep the laughter on the inside when I hear the wisdom they share back and forth.

We watched some friend's kids on Friday and my kids were great hosts. Miss E was enchanted with the 2 yr old and they played for hours. (She informed me she wants a baby sister. har har har... so easy to want but very hard to live with).

We went to a BBQ on Saturday and they wow-ed the non-parents in the crowd by heeding me when I said "no" to more cookies. And they played really great with the host's kids, too. Super N once again organizing games all the kids could play. It's so interesting to watch him develop self-confidence.

Fitness Fun( running, biking and weights, oh my! )

I guess I'm driving the Suburban.. without tags.. tomorrow. It's full of armor, which smells of leather and that special armor mustiness that clings to the rig. It's homey and sexy and it will keep F in my thoughts as I drive. I suppose the "homey and sexy" part mean I've been in the SCA so long that my reality has warpped. Oh well, I don't really care.

P.S. Made dinner. Totally yummy chicken fajitas. Though they'd probably kill d_salie and beanolc due to chili flakes AND chili powder. But it was totally scrummy if you like spicy food.

Down with Carbs (just cuz)

I feel like homework has eaten my life. N was up to 9:30 almost every night this week doing homework. He has such a hard time waking up after a night that goes that late.

The Science Fair was last night at local grammar school and it was just as much a learning experience for me as it was for my kids. ( Read more... )
