TV

While in the midst of coping with my failed BBQing saving throw last night (hand submerged in ice-water bath, waiting for advil to kick in, drinking Mike's Cranberry stuff and planning a foray on the rum/coke since the advil bottle says alcohol enhances the effects...), I watched TV.

Duh-Duh Duuuuuuuh!

I gave myself drum-bit cuz I don't watch TV anymore. Seriously... sit and watch TV? When I could be running? biking? in the corbie cave? surfing the web? What is that TV thing for anyway? It's kind of limited. Anyhow, it's perfect for when you're trapped on the sofa anchored to a bowl of ice water.

1. Series: Fringe: Caught recorded season opener. My savvier-techno friends say you can catch it on line. ME = Two thumbs up. Creepy. X-filey the way X-files was in early seasons. I'm hooked. I can't make TV-dates, tho, so I"m glad it's on line.

2. Movie: Stage Beauty, with Clare Danes. Me = two thumbs up. 17th century flick. It was already an hour into it, but it's supposedly based on when women were allowed to act on stage. It's pretty, has a plot and some (metaphorical) character dissection. I need to catch it from the beginning.

3. MOvie: Smokin' Aces: Saw it in the theater. Loved it again last night. I've decided I need to get a copy for the Corbie Cave so I can watch while sewing. I always laugh at the inappropriate parts... sorry, but my inner 15-yr old boy loves those movies.

My burns are small and on the right index finger and thumb (amazing how much pain a small burn can generate! It felt like entire thumb and finger last night). They have turned into a mix of ooky blisters and melted/scarred flesh in the pattern of the ring of the skewer (neat!). I keep fiddling with the non-blister part... it's "weird"...

But I have GREAT news: Reasons why being burned/scarred on your fingers is a "win":

1. Constant Boo Boo kisses from the family!

2. Unique finger prints. No one will ever be able to pin the crime on me. (likewise, I will need to get some false finger tips for any life of crime I was thinking of)

3. With enough scarring, I'll have asbestos fingers... I'll be able to pick things up from the hot grill without fear!!!

4. After the scars settle down, I'll never need another thimble for hand work!

Go me!

Edit
More neat:
when I line up the injuries from both fingers, they meet because they were holding the same skewer. I can feel the pulse in both at the same time... It's totally weird and spoooky!!!!! So I'm walking around gently placing them together and smirking like a weirdo. heh... who knew it would be so entertaining!
