2009 is halfway over. How are those New Year Resolutions, Ir-resolutions, Goals, Challenges or Quests going?

Or did you forget? Maybe it's a good time to look back, reassess what you thought was important, and see if those goals still make sense.

1. I intended to do 3 races this year. Windman, Deathride, Pacific Grove Tri. Windman got cancelled due to work. Deathride is done. Pacific Grove is coming up in September. I call that "good".

2. Keep the kids reading and doing math through the summer. So far so good. We all read together from 7pm to 7:30 every night.

3. Finish opus (done). Need to nudge [profile] d_salie to give me brocade to make pouch.

4. Redo website. (In progress)

5. Update resume (done. being pinged by head-hunters, which is great if I want to move to NC.)

6. Use weekends to do fun stuff w/ kids. (So far, so good.)

7. More Art. (which is happening. yay)

8. Read. My library has grown faster than I've been able to read. Right now I'm reading 3-4 related books, flipping back and forth from the texts to the memoirs/letters in order to keep stuff in perspective. ((Memoirs of Marco Parenti, Translated letters of Allesandra Strozzi, Dressing Renaissance Italy, The Rise and Fall of the Medici.)) All four are related and grounded in late 15th Century Florence. My quest is for a better understanding of day-to-day culture with an emphasis on dress.
Edit:

heh! and I forgot, the family is participating in the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure in San Francisco in September. We have a team and anyone can join us (come on down and join us!!! Breakfast at the Ferry Building after!) (F thinks we're a little over scheduled but I crossed my heart that it would be fun). As soon as the Susan G race is over, I'm going to sign up for "Passionately Pink" and so I can proactively participate in breast-cancer awareness full time and in a more structured fashion. Just wait 'til I paint my tank top - I'm getting all my little girls to put their handprints on it. I'm Racing for the Cure so they can Race for Fun.
