Running in a group/formation is a different style and requires different skills than as an individual. Best thing to do for the first time is set your own pace and see if that matches anyone else in the group. You may have to push yourself somewhat to get running partners or push others to come up to your level/ pace. You may also find that your breathing become different because of the new style of running.
