Spousal back update: he's really messed up. The chiropractor is trying, but he's going to see the MD today.
Packing up and work, etc.
There's always someone in every group who's noted as the slacker. I live in fear of being labelled the slacker. I'd rather do two people's work than annoy my friends by having them think I'm lazy. I'm an Irish Catholic Worker Bee.
Honestly, I don't mind packing down my own camp alone if I know to expect it ahead of time. But we agreed together that we were going to have all that stuff in our camp and it sucks when the situation shifts and I'm packing up alone.
And I really don't think it's okay to rely on friends/family to pack your own gear. Here's my philosophy:
Only wear as much armor as you're willing to tote around. Only pack as much stuff as you're willing to set-up/tear down.
Plus, it bugs the heck out of me that we're always the last ones packed up. And then I got doused in soot from helping Rat with his fire pit. I managed my fire-pit alone without getting myself sooted, so having Rat douse me in soot made me cranky and stubborn. Remind you of someone chucking rocks with bad wrists?
And you did help - you helped with dropping the roof and folding up the roof canvas. That was a huge help because I could not have done it alone. And it was greatly appreciated.
Also on the happy side, Stinky helped me fold up the pavilion walls. That really has me stoked!!! I'm still smiling over that.
