Per the Russian River area: I had the same reaction. I've never done anything but drive through that part of CA. Now I want to go back and stay for a while and explore.
Per lables: Ya know, I remember when rswtr indicated to Juana that she thought I was straight-laced, and Juana nearly coughed up a lung. I have a theory that good posture and late-period costume makes people assume that I'm all "proper".
And I've heard good things about The Historian as well, although I'm not a fan of anything vampire. Except, of course, of Christopher Moore's Bloodsucking Fiends. ;-)
