threadwalkerThis weekend's discoveries:
1. Once again I discover the icecream diet reverses the effects of weight loss.
2. I pulled out kid-costume projects. Looks like I actually had some progress already done on the pink Italian for my 3yr old fashionista. She won't be wearing the emperor's new clothes at Erinwood.
3. I got new running shoes on Thursday from "See Jane Run" in Berkeley - awesome shopping experience and I'll never go anywhere else again. I ran 3.5 mi on Thursday and Sunday on the treadmill. New distance record for me and I believe I'll actually be able to run the full 5k in September. No, I'm not fast, but I have great gusto and snazzy shoes.
4. The switch is made and the kids are sleeping in their own rooms. My benevolent dictatorship scores one more notch of triumph.
5. I can maintain calm in the face of a 3yr old's titanic tantrum. I can do it without yelling, spanking or other outward sign of distress while also maintaining dominance and a clear understanding of who has control. Go me!
6. Sometimes "I love you" really means, "Do you still love me?" when delivered from a hiccuping, teary-eyed, blotchy-faced preschooler who's hugging you like they are afraid you might slip away.
7. I watched my 6 yr old console my 3 yr old. I was stunned once more at how mature he has become. Who is this emerging young man and where's my little boy?
