The short: Awesome weekend.

Slightly more detail

1. The small immediate family ate out for Thanksgiving dinner at Left Bank in Pleasant Hill... best brussel sproutes evah! The bro and his gf bailed on pie and coffee at our place, but Mom R was hip, so we had her over for pie and tea. I took her home around 10 pm. Great visit. No dishes, no mess, lots of chat. yay! Perfect way to celebrate especially after 2 months of hell-schedule and exhaustion.

2. House is clean. Holy fricking cow! yay! Let's keep it this way.

3. Mom S (me birth mama) came over Wed and left Sat eve. Was non-stressful the ENTIRE time. (how the heck did that happen?)

4. Fri at 7 am hubby and bro headed out to Rohnert Park to help move friends in need. Vic also showed up. The hubby rented a 17ft truck for the effort. It was/is a jacked up situation and the only people available/willing to help were them. The three of them worked like slaves all day. They rock. And nothin' says "You rock" like cooked flesh of cow. I did steak-y goodness for dinner and they were grateful. And there was more pie. And then they passed out on sofa. I had a chorus of snoring men in my family room around 8pm. Very funny.

5. Sewing. Lots of sewing. Lots of bubble-gum pink for my fashionista. Whatever makes her happy because it really doesn't matter to me.

6. I watched first season of Babylon 5 for the first time ever. I can't believe I missed this series. I really enjoyed all of it except for the "mood sound effects" and the "space music". Space music always makes me cringe; it's always sooooo wrong. I want to tell the producers to just give it up and go for something less "alien". I like Londo and Ivanava. Ivanava is my hero... I was quoting her all weekend. "I will rip your head off and use it for a chamber pot"... "I will listen to Ivanava, I will take Ivanava's suggestions, Ivanava is God..."

7. Catan is good. Catan with friends is better. Catan with friends and pie and cool whip is bestest.

8. 2nd row seats near center at Cirque rocks! Kids were enthralled. One act in particular had me gasping, holding my breath and my stomach dropping out.

9. There was lots of pie and cool whip and cookie dough ice cream this weekend. I felt like I put on 10 lbs. The scale shows me w/i my 5 lb range of norm and up (at most) 1 lb from the previous week. Weird. Maybe the scale is lying - sometimes it does that.

10. The shed was 50F last night. Brrr... I can't even think, never mind "sew" when the shed is that cold. I practically sat on the heater while I was out there. brrrr.... All hail the heater, giver of ..um.. heat!

11. I own a Trek 1200. It needs a tune-up, but look out biking world, here I come! woot woot

I saw some of the later episodes, so I know where it's heading in a general sense and I find myself marvelling at what having a "5-year plot" for a series will do for the quality of the stories. It all good. I'm really enjoying the interweaving of the characters and sub-plots.

Anyway, I finished it last night, so you're welcome to borrow it.
