I did not go into the Corbie Cave.
I did not do most of the chores I lined up for myself.
I did not get my hair cut (sadly overdue, Rover!)
I did NO fitness stuff on Saturday, making it a full week break.
I did not run or attend a sewing workshop marathon (unlike all the other awesome seamstresses in the area).
I did not go to War Collegium.
I didn't do any yard work.

Geez! I'm a slug.

Like a slug-at-heart, I can produce a credible cough and say, "I'm too sick to do X...." But I suspect it's not as bad as all that. It's my inner slug being turned off by yard work, etc, right now.

I slugged around Saturday morning w/ the hubby and experimented with sleeping in and snuggling and locking the bedroom door on the kids. (I LOVE how they LOVE cartoons! I wonder how many marriages have been saved by the TV and the fact that you can get cartoons 24-7! And let's not forget the magic of poptarts.. woot woot!). I slugged with E while daddy and N did useful errands. I slugged at a friends house where I ate, drank and whupped some butt in Catan. Okay, I washed a few dishes, but compared to the haul I usually have to wash at home, that was slugging.

Sunday I took a spinning class, which is NOT sluggy. Whew-ee! But I made up for that with super-slugging later. I slugged at The Jungle for a few hours and I did not run the habitat trail with the kids. Then I slugged with friends in Santa Rosa. The 3 hr drive to and from Santa Rosa might be thought of as "non-sluggy" until you consider the option was staying home and doing yard work, laundry and housework. oh, yeah... embrace the slug. Then, after I got home Sunday eve, I surveyed the wreck that my house became in my absence and my solution was to slug infront of the PC (CoH style) and let my virtual self wack some bad guys.

On the flip side, I kind of feel like I took time to smell the roses and I reconnected with a lot of folks, including people I haven't seen in a while or just haven't gotten quality time with. Because when you get down to it, that's what makes the rat-race worth while are the people you care about and getting to be with them.

And out of this slugginess, I might be starting a little Concord cycling group with my favorite people in the world. How awesome is that! I'm trying to map something out from D'Salie's so that we can work around the fact that her bike does not fit in her car. No, I'm not going to lure anyone into going up Mt Diablo... all the way. lol. And I have been firmly told by all, "We don't want to do a triathlon". (ok, noted.) But what a fun way to spend time together while also investing in our well-being and, by definition, longevity of our friendships.
