The tri (less than 2 weeks ... tick-tock-tick-tock)
http://www.envirosports.com/events/event.php?eventid=2192&phase=3

I need to goggle/map it, but I am guessing it's about an hour from Beltane.

We are going to Beltane Saturday eve for Sir Celwin's service. I keep thinking that it's lucky that Beltane and the race are close enough to squeeze both into a single weekend. F is going to the one that's this weekend, too, but I am going to Collegium.

We won't be staying late at Belane, though. We've got to drive back to our camp ground and I've got to get some sleep if I'm going to be up at 5:45 the next morning and do that tri-thing. I told F we could stay until 9:00, which really means leave site around 9:30, get back to our campsite around (est) 10:30, and go straight to bed. So I've got my fingers crossed that Leticia is still planning for an 8pm gathering and that it actually happens at 8pm. F has already promised I won't have to "pry" him out of there even if it runs late.

And as if we don't have enough to do that weekend, the love of my life wants to take me to a gun show in SF the same morning we are supposed to drive up to Napa for the race and Beltane. The irony was lost on him. I laughed my butt off, though. The only thing better than taking your wife to a gun show is taking her to one on Mother's Day. He's so cute.

And today's cheer for modern living goes to: drugs
At 8 am I got a visit from the Migraine Demon. Blinding, head-throbbing, light-sensitive, "I wish I could die right now" - migraine. My bad was that I didn't have access to medicine during the onset and it's always a toss up after that if anything will work. However, after 3 hrs of "why did someone stick a nail through my skull and leave it there", the magic medicine kicked in (20 minutes ago) and the RELIEF is amazing. Yay for better living through chemistry.

Projects: I gave up on having something ready for the PPF last week in the midst of work hell. So nothing "planned" for that event. I have my ropa, so I won't have to resort to a Gunney-Sack from the Goodwill. However, on the "random" project front, I spontaneously started to cut down an old dress and I started a new overdress dress. (Florentine, 1480s) I can't set a due date, because that's "planning" and I know that I'm under a anti-planning geas right now. But it might be done this week. Or it might not. But it sure is fun to watch it evolve. I like the fabrics and I'm watching the "Anne of Green Gables" series (at Costco right now). Which I ADORE and I'm having flash-backs to sewing marathons in my basement with Catagon and Sirst. The underdress had hand-stitched lacing holes that had to be cut out. Sadly, this did not result in the perfect fit. Fortunately, I have a Plan B* based on pictorial evidence and in a totally out-of-character mood, I'm completely unworried. Who knows when it will be done, it's all unplanned, so there's no point in stressing.

*(I know, "plan B" sounds like planning, but it's really coincidental and successful research done at the time the information was needed. But saying "plan B" is faster)

I will be doing the Beltane to Berryessa run Saturday night, too. I need to stay for the Bard of the West competition, however late that goes. Did we inform you yet that we have a tent camping spot at a different campground? We can have up to 4 people and will have our 3-room tent, if anyone needs a place to stay. The current plan is that Sirst will go up to Berryessa Saturday afternoon/evening to set up and hang out with you... Hmm.

I suspect the Bel to Ber run will be more in the 1.5 to 2 hour range. I'm planning to ask Ghislaine about the best route to take, as she lives in Napa. She's the baroness of Vinhold, if you want to do that yourself.

Looking forward to getting to see you and F. Sorry about the reason you'll be at Beltane.

Looked at a map finally instead of just consulting my brain. I was thinking the lake was farther south, making it logical to go through Napa. It does look like cutting over from 101 to Calistoga on Mark West Springs north of Santa Rosa, then down to Rutherford and 128 might be the best bet. Those are all 2-lane roads. Once upon a time, the road through Pope Valley was very small and very windy.

We are staying at Spanish Flat Resort @ Lake Berryessa, 4290 Knoxville Road.

I know SirSt made enthusiastic comments about coming and supporting, but I hadn't realized you guys were actually coming. Not that the positive vibe and support wasn't there, but as we all know too well, "life happens while you are making plans for other things"....

YAY!!!!!!!!

If Farin wants to stay late at Beltane for Sir Celwins service (running late or whatever), maybe I can leave at the planned time and he can hang out and return with you.

I let F know that I want to be checking in at the camp-ground at 2pm and I want to drive the course around 3pm. Since I know you guys are going up, we could hook up and (if you're interested), cruise the route, too.

I'm so excited. (And I better not wimp out in front of my friends.

That sounds like a good plan to me. Saturday and Sunday for me are blocked entirely to provide support for you.
