GNO (girls night out)

Miss E was sick all night. boo! Poor thing. She bounced back around 4pm today. And boy-o did she ever. Like a super-ball ricocheting off the walls.
Sending Daddy and Super N to Erinwood. Hopefully my organization bug helped
Daddy and Super N went to Erinwood this morning. We were up off and on all night with Miss E, so he was dragging tail. I tried to make everything as hassle-free as possible for him figuring he'd be pooped after the 3 hr drive. I put all the food in one ice chest, sorted into different gallon-sized zip-locks. I packed the allergy medicine for one-and-all in the feast gear. And the suitcase with Super N's clothes was organized a certain way (each doublet had a shirt folded up inside it; mundane stuff on the left, costumey stuff on the right) so I taped a list to the inside flap with a list of what was there and which side it was on. I'm hoping they'd be able to find what they needed without dumping everything out. I am hoping they had a good time. I checked the weather for Columbia and it says mild precipitation. Hopefully the clouds went around the property and didn't rain on them. That can happen, you know. Seriously!
Shades of Pastel
After Miss E's recovery we cleaned out her room. I'm not sure when it was vacuumed last! Tomorrow (later today) we are stripping the trim off the walls and I'm probably going to prime them for a paint job. Pink and purple. Part of me is cringing at the pastel-ness of it all. The other part is happy to give her something she really wants. I had a room that had canary yellow walls with a dark orange carpet. I hated it. I never understood why I had the ugly room with the hand me down, mismatched furniture while my sister had the beautiful room with the different shades of blue and the matching, brand-new, feminine furniture. yeah - scarred for life. Whatever. Anyway, I'm sensitive to Miss E's request and will oblige her within reason. We are not, however, doing the mural of Wonder Woman, Zantana, Black Canary and Supergirl. We'll see if we can get some posters at WonderCon, etc.
GNO
As we finished up cleaning out her room, Miss E asked if we could get dressed up and go out for tea. She was so cute and earnest in her request, so we put off the paint purchase until tomorrow. She had her stretch-velour and lace and bedazzled pink princess dress on and I put on a black skirt and sweater (like my only non-work outfit). Two girls all dressed up and out on the town. We couldn't find the relocated tea house on Todos Santos Plaza so we redirected and went to the movies to see Prince Caspian instead.
Good movie. Miss E took it all in. She wanted me to explain some of the plot to her. I'm always impressed at how well she grasps stuff. She got excited w/ Reechacheap because he's also in Voyage of the Dawntreader, which I read to them last year. The mouse was excellently portrayed and the voice-talent for him was perfect!
Back in the car, "Mommy, this has been the best day ever. We spent the whole day together. And we get to do it again tomorrow. I love you, Mommy." Then she did a deep, happy sigh.
awwww.....
And the current never-ending project
I also plugged along w/ my 15th century overdress. I'm hand binding all the skirt slits, which is a bugger to do and progressing slowly. I work on it in chunks otherwise my brain would melt.
