I am so sneaky...

I rock! I secretly flew great grandma down from Coos Bay, OR. I picked her up from the airport yesterday.
Grandma was floored when I called with the news that I'd bought a plane ticket a few weeks ago right on the heals of her telling us she couldn't come down. (gotta love the internet). She said she almost cried with joy. (Yay me! I love doing that sort of thing.)
The plan: pick up grandma from airport yesterday afternoon and bring her to my house around the same time I usually come home. Thereby surprising my mother-in-law (Nana) with an unexpected (and greatly desired) visit from her mother (Grandma).
Okay, although I made all the arrangements on the sly, I had to let some folks in on it, so I formed a conspiracy.
The Husband: I had to tell F, since the ticket went on the credit card, which requires spousal approval. And he probably would have been very upset if I kept something that important from him even without the credit card caviat. So I told him after I bought the ticket. He was thrilled even though he'd have preferred to know about such a big credit card thing beforehand next time. There were circumstances (like he was in meetings all day), but even so it was deemed a "good thing to do."
The Brother-in-law: It was his job to make sure his mom didn't do something unexpected like take the kids to one of her numerous friends' houses on the afternoon of Grandma's arrival. It would be just like her to take the baby a-visiting and miss grandma's arrival. So he was to keep tabs on her and make sure she didn't go anywhere.
My mom: Okay, this was probably a mistake because in an effort to not say the secret, apparently she almost blurted it out several times. However she made it through last Friday without blowing it, although she apparently seemed a bit off in conversation because she was trying so hard to not say the wrong thing.
The Aunt in Oregon, my mother-in-laws sister: She was going to visit grandma this week so grandma had to tell her why she was canceling the visit. If loose lips sink ships, you never want this aunt on your boat. However, she kept it together based solely on the knowledge that I'd ream her out for blowing it. She did call 20 minutes after Grandma's reunion with Nana to gloat that she'd been "in the know" the whole time. (sisters!)
The GodParents: They knew how much I wanted Grandma here, so I told them knowing that they'd be able to not blab. Besides, the brother-in-law is the godfather, so he had to be included anyway.
It was soooo cool. Granmda, F, Stinky and I were standing on the front porch of our house. Grandma used my cell phone to call the house and Nana answered. Grandma started talking to her as if she were still in Oregon. We start ringing the door bell, so Grandma told Nana to get off the phone and answer the door already. Nana was overwhelmed when she opened the door. She didn't know if she should cry, laugh or just spas-out. The baby got excited, screamed some babble and then ran up to Grandma. It was very cool. Both Grandma and Nana spent the night at our place. I'm sure they'll spend the day chatting and catching up and marveling at how big the kids are.
