I'm past my grumpy mood. I'm still restless, but I'm not grumpy about it.

And I'm all better even though I failed to get up in time for gym. I was up past midnight due to circumstances and couldn't rouse myself at 5am this morning, so no work out for me. (sniffle). However, getting up later meant getting up with family, hanging out with LH, and actually getting some quality chat time with LH. What a world of difference quality adult time makes for my sanity check.

I've come up with a plan for painting a mural/theme in the blue room and all of us are excited. The long term plan is for the blue room to be Stinky's room, so he's very excited that I'm theming this around his interests and building it around where his furniture will be placed. In the short term, the guest bed and a minimal amount of sewing paraphenalia will get moved to the yellow room while both kids get shifted into the blue room, which is bigger. I have to work bed-moving and painting around a week long visit from mom which starts Monday, then her regular weekly visits which run from Wednesday through Friday, and then a month long visit which starts in July. I will have to do this in clever stages. (There may be a phase where the guest bed gets shifted before I'm done painting the blue room and the kids might be sleeping on cots in our room. They will LOVE that. Not sure I will love all the snoring.)

In the meantime, first things first - sort, organize and pack fabric & sewing paraphenalia. When did I buy so much wool flannel? Oh my god! And why did I buy so much stinking brocade??? Delusions of free time. Yup - that's me.

Then I'm going to get butcher paper and make full scale sketches for the murals. It will be staged so I can get the bed in first. (thinking to myself here ...) Which really just drives home how much I love owning my own house. I would never do this in a rental.

Oh - and I'm site hunting for Fall Collegium. I'm lining up interviews/visits with a variety of principals in El Dorado and Sac. I hate cold-calling! But it's a necessary evil. Feh! But I've ruled out several sites based on availability, which will hopefully save time.

And Sunday is the "Wonder-Full" Tea party for the kids. I'm expecting 13 kids ranging from 18 months to 8 years old. What a zoo that will be. Fortunately, all parents are required to be in attendance.

Not being grumpy is good. Having a plan and scope is good. Happy muraling!! :)

You might also talk to Siobhan Medbh O'Roarke. She's putting together a teen center in a building that sounded as though it was mostly empty. The building may still be empty come fall. She may also know of "training" centers in the area as she used to give a lot of talks.

We used Sac State for years. Back then, it was free because there was an SCA group there. St. Cassian has been dormant for eons, but there may still be some good will there.

There's a reception hall off of Watt Avenue - it was run by a television station back then and I'm blanking at the call letters - that was really very nice. Not much help, am I?

Hey - I actually searched television stations in that area and did a map search to see if there was one near Watt Ave. I couldn't find one. But I appreciate the thought. Maybe something will come to you in the next few days.
