Not the Weekend I Planned
Jun. 28th, 2009 01:04 pmYay! The kids have stopped vommitting!
And the fevers are down and the migraines seem to have stopped. Although they are still on ibuprofen, so it could all be a lie. But I will take that lie! At least they've stopped crying, ceased sobbing and no longer projectile vomit 7-Up.
I can relax now?
And Mommy has learned an important lesson: Just because they say they feel better and the symptoms that started on Thursday had been absent for 24 hours, don't believe them. The trip to 6-Flags in the +90F heat was ALL fail and retriggered everything.
Trying to get out of the park was rough, too. Some big adult guys started to cut in front of me at the exit, so I called out, "Hello, could I get through please? I'd like to get the vomitting kids away from all the other guests." The Designer Label decked guys all stepped back.
This morning Miss E told me in her super-serious tone that my hands smell like vomit so I should "probably" wash them. And here I thought I kept getting a whiff of kids orange Tylenol everytime I got my fingers near my face. She's been up since 6am and seems to be recovered; zipping around here like a super-ball. Super N is not quite there yet. He and I watched the animated Clone Wars this morning while I kept a cold cloth on his head and monitored his temperature. I was amused as he explained to me the various advantages of the water warriors, land warriors and space warriors. He liked the land guys best because they were "elite fighters who are well trained, coordinated and use hand signals." I watch how serious and animated his face is as he explains this to me and the words are just filler.
It's lunch time, though, and I'm tired. And Friday sucked. I got to work before 7, worked through lunch and pulled out right before 7pm. And it was a hard day of work, too. My deodorant was not up to it. I got home and meant to stretch out for a few minutes in bed, but Miss E snuggled up next to me and read to me, lulling me to sleep.
I was too tired to run or bike early this morning. I ventured outside around 10am and it already felt like 80F. Too hot. I don't have the gas to run/bike in this heat today. I think I will set up trainer later and maybe do it outside tonight in the moonlight... with ipod... hmm... that sounds nice and "alone" and alone. In the meantime, the Corbie Cave (which has no AC) is a "no go" zone, so my plans to sew have been cancelled. On the other hand, I've been noodling around on the net and the Pelican has gotten a lot of loving. And the vomitting had stopped! Yay!
