We saw Corteo Saturday night. It was breathtaking!!!
First, we went to our favorite Italian place, Luna Ristorante, to start. Yum!!!! We had great seats. I bought tickets months and months ago and forgot what great seats we had until we got there. Dang, I'm good!
The show theme is based on a funeral. Being non-Victorian in roots, it was not the sad, teary-eyed stuff, but the joyful, loud music, leaping and acrobatic type. (Well, it is a Cirque show, so there had to be acrobatics, afterall).
It was unique from Dralion, which we saw 3 years ago. It was not full of bendy, twisty little Asian girls who failed Olympic trials. It was full of bendy, twisty little French-Canadian girls in 1930-ish underclothes swinging from chandeliers. The whole show did a good job of maintaining look and atmosphere. It had wire work, some great unique acts and midgets in 18th century clothing. If you've seen the show, you'll laugh when I say "Super Romeo"!
Hats off to Cirque. Fabulous show.

Date: 2005-11-23 10:16 pm (UTC)As for the "I hate chickens" ... it's all so French-Canadian - (lol!) I don't think logic has much to do with it, just art and experience and the emotion of the moment.
Is that a picture of your back with the tatoo in the pic?

Date: 2005-11-30 02:10 am (UTC)Cirque - I pulled out the catalogue. The show is based on the dream of a clown. Suddenly scenes with chickens and midgets and beautiful women in chandelier make perfect sense. hahaha!
Granny underwear never looked so sexy ... um, that's a reference to the chandeliers, not the chickens .... lol
