I got a "what up?" from a friend at work today who reads my LJ.
Me, "nothin'".

I am very busy at work and it's extremely challenging. My project d'jour is utterly draining, I'm super-stressed and it's interfering with my sleep. And even if I felt comfortable talking more about it here, it's super-boring to anyone who's not into this stuff. Nuff details about that.

I'm dealing with stress by working it out when I'm not spontaneously falling asleep in my tracks. It's that or eat myself sick. Last night I tackled our front yard from 7 pm to 9pm while simultaneously refereeing kids, who insisted on participating (yay! - not plugged into TV!!). I hit gym from 10pm to midnight and did a grueling work out(1). I was so hot and sweaty and tired (translate: beyond caring what anyone else thinks), that I stripped off my tank top and worked out in sports bra and shorts. That's a personal measure of how "beyond it all" I was because I'm extremely shy in that environment.

Right now I'm feeling pretty pleased. The boss has been out of town for a few weeks and I got a "good job" on my project status. *yay* happy dance.

tonight: dance. no gym in the forecast.

(1)Work out:
Cardio: level 7, 30 minutes, HR 168+, 368 cal
Weight machines (3 sets of 10-12 reps)
Leg Press: 75@ (ready to go up)
Leg curl: 75@ (up)
Leg Ext: 65@ (still being careful of injury, mild twinge in left knee)
Bicep : 50/50-45/45 (drop mid 2nd set)
Tricep: 50@ (up)
Bench: 50@
Abs: 45@
Lats: 65@
Pleeay... fell over 2x when got to the "open-close" part. :-P
Did 10 reps without the knee open/close/open; knees pointed out throughout.

Personal eval: Gave the work out every ounce I had. Was ready to crash when I was done. And I was drenched!!! in sweat. ewwww... But it was good sweat... hahaha!

Yeah good sweat.

funny you should peak.. I was going to "ping" you.

I was concerned that I was going too hard. I seem to have 2 modes on stair master: mosey vs. pump it as hard as I can. There is no between setting. 10 minutes into it I'm hot and sweat is rolling into my eyes and down my legs. By the time I'm done, I'm having to step carefully off stair device while holding onto rails or I will fall on butt from wobbly legs. I think I'm glad you're not saying "whoa, Nellie, dial it back"...

We need to get together one of these days. sigh. so many things to do ...

I still say you need to be kidnapped ... problem is, it wouldn't have the necessary stress-lowering effects if you got kidnapped from stuff that needs to get done. The first lunch you have free, we are soooo doing sushi.

that sounds wonderful... I've been fantasizing about NOT having lunch with co-workers. I realized today that I have had a working lunch every day for the last 2-1/2 weeks. in the same set of conference rooms... with the same people. Okay, now I need to go cry.

well don't cry too much, at least you actually have people around you during lunch. my usual lunch companions are my cats...LOL

Speaking of lunch. We finally tried that chicken chili recipe, with a variation of my own, very good! Wasn't spicy enough though, I stuck to the recipe. I am going to try your variation next time, which is what I meant to do in the first place but I had a brain fart when I was making a grocery list LOL Anyway, it's pretty darn good :) And Scott liked it too! It's hard to find something healthy that he'll eat!!

Chili goodness

awesome!

I just got a Weight Watcher's Cook that purports to have "150 Fresh and Simple Recipes fomr America's Rich Hispanic Heritage"... It came w/ a 2nd one that's full of meals that are 5pts or less.

I'm jazzed about cooking from these. I'll post when I find something yummy.
