and I'm so excited that my tummy has little flutters. It's totally out of proportion with the event. OR... is it?

Being at crown means..

1. NOT being at work (this is HUGE!)

2. Not being home and doing house/yard/life work

3. seeing friends and loved ones

4. dressing up in funny clothes

5. seeing apprenti handiworks come to fruition (squeee!!)

6. having family in one spot and having fun without house/yard/life work interfering

So my tummy flutter is not out of proportion. And having just exchanged a burst of e-mail w/ one of the apprenti, I'm jazzed and in the pre-event zone where my brain keeps asking, "Can we go now? Can we go now? Now? ...now?"

And my next dilema is...

I'm bummed that I won't have new clothes. I have the dress I made for Beltane. I made a new pair of sleeves and apron for it last month, so if it's not over 95 in the shade, I should be okay in this.

Last month I dug out some Italian Ren I made for 30yr Celebration that I can get into comfortably... (wow, that was a long time ago ...more than 10 years?). They don't fit the same tho... I've had a lot of mileage since then and the black one is loose in places where it shouldn't be loose, which vexes me. Vex might be an understatement. It really super-annoys me and I'd gut it and rebuild it if I thought it was worth the effort. Also, it's black.. and we'll be in Sac... cringe. On the other hand, the wool one (which won't even be brought to the event since it's super-lined wool flannel!) fits snug in the waist, loose in the shoulders and is very low cut... I don't remember feeling quite so exposed last time I wore it 7+ years ago even if it was worn with the (now missing) high necked chemise.

gah! I just need to keep moving forward on making new stuff so that I can retire the old stuff. It's an excellent excuse to make different things and try out later periods.

On the "coolio" front, I think I found some more bumble bee fabric to match the dress I'm too small for. I got enough to make a new bodice and pair of sleeves. Why? Well, I really liked the way it came out the first time and I can't wear it because it's too huge on me... I wore a towel around my ribs at 12th night to keep the darn thing from shifting around and I've lost 10-15 lbs since 12th Night. AND... the materials in that ran over $200. I'm not ready to retire it. In fact, it might be this year's 12th Night project: Saving my Bumbles. lol.
