Advice was appreciated and I even took it (more or less)
How an engineer bandages hands after getting advice from knowledgable friends:
Ingredients:
I did not find lanolin at Target, but I found Eucerin stuff which is what I used for Nicholas's sensitive skin.
I had neosporin. (Apparently I did not react from any sulfates; I will look for polysporin tonight to put in first aid kit for trip).
I got non-stick sterile first-aid bandage things.
I got first-aid sports tape stuff.
Unwrap and lay all the items out. Note the bandage is huge, so cut it in manageable pieces. Add ointments to boo-boos. One boo-boo at a time, place sterile pad over boo-boo. Unreel tape and keep applying tape until bandage ceases to threaten to fall off or move. Chew through tape to separate it from the roll when done. Repeat on each owie.
****
By the time I was done my hands looked like two wads of sports tape wrapped up and ready to do their impersonation of "Return of the Mummy". I could not figure out how to get the tape to keep the bandage in place without using gobs of tape. AND it just kept sort of reeling off - are you supposed to cut or rip that stuff? I chewed through and shredded the edges. I was also afraid I'd cut the circulation off in my wrist. The hubby's response was that I looked like I taped my hands to box. I pealed some of it off so I could fit my hands in the weight lifting gloves. It turns out the weight lifting gloves were fabu at holding the remainder in place.
To think I took first aid! ha!
