The plan changed. We are heading out at o-dark-thirty in the morning. The drivers are too tired to drive.

Anyway, it looks like the investment of back-breaking effort into the front yard paid off. The weeds, which were popping up in no time previously have been absent. yay! woot woot!

The hands are healing slowly. I'm fascinated to see how the flesh grows over the wounds to close them. Gripping motions, like do for opening jars and bottles, still crack them open. But at least I can type without pain and ooze.

Apparently I rock. I have been told by the hubby that I am super-fantastic and a cutie. (Me sitting amidst all the camping gear and directing rambunctious children while sorting and packing camping equipment.) And I got some work kudos this week. And the "scary guy" at work ... the one who's smarter than the average bear and who was sent from the mothership to set us straight... he takes me seriously and actually said I had some good points. You could have knocked me over with a feather.

Other Accomplishments:
fitness: my weight training has had some good payout. I'm increasing weights almost everywhere. One exception: my left elbow has decided to stop playing, so I've quit doing those pull-ups with the bar. It hurts a lot and I can't do more than 5 lb w/ the dumbell on that side while I can do 20 on the right side. I think maybe I slept on that arm while it was curled under me. Regardless, letting it heal is a good thing.

sewing: I was prepping a project for the trip. I've got a bodice pinned together and I'm hand turning the bias. It's only sewn at shoulders, so I have a lot of bias to turn. I got 1/8 of it done while watching Saving Priv. Ryan last night. Since we are driving up in the day, I think I'm going to prep the bias trim - it's a 10+ hr road trip. Maybe I should pack the white linen in a zip lock so I can hand-make the chemise. hm.

anyway, TGIF. We're off to the great wet north in the morning.

Smart husband :-) but he is stating the obvious.

ahhh, but it's always nice to hear it.

I got a lot of "wow! you've been such a great wife" or "great trooper" last weekend, too. Herding kids in rain, cooking and doing dishes in rain, hosing off the troops after rolling around at the beach, hahaha! Personally, as long as the sleeping bag stays dry, I can face all sorts of challenges. Besides, there was running water, flush potties and a shower house! It was the lap of luxury. lol.
