I don't blog much about projects because then I have the overwhelming urge to drop what I'm doing and go home to work on them. I'd probably lose my job, so generally it's just best to bottle it up and save those ponderings for my commute home. Afterall, it's like I'm rushing towards them at the speed of BART when I'm on my way home.

Today's BART was extra slow and I missed my connection. :-(

But I am excited that despite my "slower than glacier melt" project pace, I'm making progress on something. Hoo-ray! It's a cotte hardie // fitted gothic gown // four-panel fitted gown .. or whatever. It's fitted from shoulder to waist, has four panels, long sleeves and is floor length. The super-cool part is that I'm using supplies I already had - I haven't even bought thread! Last year I'd bought some "yellow" wool to make a renaissance kirtle. What I got was way too light weight for my project and looks "cream" instead of "yellow". (The hazards of internet shopping is not getting what you think you are ordering). However, it's making a great wool under dress and flows through my hands like water. And then I scavenged the silk I'd bought for making banners and added to that pile the left overs from various projects.

Right now, the wool dress is mostly constructed. I need to finish the eyelets, finish the hem, make sleeves and I think I need to finish the neck. That's probably a week of handwork on BART.

The silk is barely started, but the top half is constructed, eyelets are underway, and the skirt has been laided out and cleverly pieced to maximize the fact that these are project left-overs. The eyelets on this are today's BART task.

I understand your dilemma, but I'm very interested in the project updates. I'm such a process junkie...
