Freaking out. Brain is spinning with all the things I need to do at work.

Tilt.

That can be the only explanation for the on-line fabric purchase today. I'm pretty sure I decided I had enough wool and silk and linen until the End of Days. The Death Ride is a lot less daunting than my job right now. Seriously.

Speaking of Death Rides, it's 6 months away..

How is Death Ride Training going?

very well, tyvm. Sunday I'm starting to work on doubles.

Doubles?

Yes, I will go up the mountain, down the mountain and then turn around at the traffic circle a mile away and head back up. For my first attempt at a double, I'll time myself on the second climb. I will climb for 30-45 minutes after I pass the gate house. Fingers crossed I don't embarrass myself. I may need to shed gear at my car or refill gatorade. But I'm not in a "Do or Die" head space.

I wish I had the wind proof jacket I ordered on line. Dang it. The one I got was ridiculously tight in the armpit, so I sent it back and ordered the next size up. ... still waiting... moderately patiently...

I also bought a PDF guide on training for Death Ride, which I will read this weekend.

Panic has not set in. yet.
On the other hand, it's Thursday, which means:

1. my house is clean (confetti, drums and trumpets)
2. It's Date Night with my Muse. I be working on finishing whatever little tid-bits were left undone on my 12th night duds. Cuz I really do go back and finish stuff or rip it apart and redo it if I didn't like it. I can get caught up on NCIS.

I was wearing an old coat over new clothes. heh. The coat is about 15 years old and has the signs of wear and tear to prove it.

Under the coat I had a new kirtle and gown. The kirtle was pretty invisible unless I lifted a hem. It was a rich shade of denim-blue wool based on the one I saw in Pisa. I love the way that worked and just bought more wool and silk to make 2 more. Over that was a rust colored wool gown with cut-work bodice & sleeves and innerlined in silk shot in rust and green (very subtle and probably not very visible from a distance) based on a painting by ...er... hmm... I need to check my notes, but there's a picture in Moda.

more wool? nom nom nom...
