Just the facts, Ma'am
Apr. 24th, 2006 11:39 pmWork. It's all about the job that pays right now. It's a $81 mill project and I'm pretty sure we're overbudget. I wonder how far off we are?
Anyway, I'm frequently going in by 7:30 am, hitting the construction zone by 8:30 and coming out of there around 5pm. From 5pm onwards I sit at my desk and do the paperwork that ambushes me. Laying in wait like a ravenous leap of leopards. grrrowl! chomp! did you think you were going home? hahahahaha! More paperwork for you, lady. That said, I did something REALLY clever. I can't help patting myself on the back. I started leaving my Uggs and some "cooling foot spray" on the front seat of my car. so after trudging to the car, my feet get a little pick-me-up and then the warm hug of sheep skin. My feeties know I love them! LOL
Today was the first day in WEEKS I've had a lunch break to myself. It was fan-tab-ulous! I closed the door to my office, put on some music and did some embroidery. My screen saver cycles through some early period art JPGs and I watched that, just vegging out. Wheee! Down time. Whoop! Anyway, today was wonderfully slow. I only worked 8 hours. I signed 5 things and routed several others.
Oh - and just to test me, I was trying to send out some Collegium posts to the world of Yahoo and I can't post. I can read groups, but not post. I suspect the IT-Powers have installed some sort of block. So after bathing kids, feeding kids, putting kids to bed, etc, I dragged my weary self in here and started to putz around. Whew - one monkey off my back.
In other news, Miss No got tubes in her ears. My staunch little warrior! She's doing very well.
The IT-Powers at work have figured out that LJ exists and they are now blocking. So much for my Monday morning catch-up and my Friday afternoon-wind-down. Ah, well. It was inevitable.
We made sausage on Saturday for the lunch at collegium. totally yummy! Rah-rah Gianetta and Rowan!
Tomorrow night I'm going out with some gal pals for dinner. Wednesday Miss M is coming over to have some embroidery de-mystified.
Tomorrow afternoon - more Collegium website updates. It's a huge amount of work to get the class descriptions up. I'm going to try and get in super-duper early tomorrow so I can work on it. On that note, it's time for bed!
Cheers to all my friends.
