threadwalker: (happy in my own world)
you reminisce about the music of your ill-spent youth... you know, "We had Glam Rock. Let me tell you, those boyz knew how to wear lipstick and spandex. None of this saggy pants stuff."

when you crack a joke with someone who was on the top of your "push off pier with cement boots"-list last year.

when the spouse is annoyed with you and instead of listening to his words, you hear his stress, you think he's cute when he's shooting lightning from his eyes and you understand it's not really about how you parked your car in the driveway (on top of the newspaper or whatever), it's really about fear of what the crazy economy could do to us.

I really logged on to rant about the cost of new sewing machines, but I don't have the umph to be upset. Suffice to say, the workhorses I'd like are so far out of my budget, I have no idea what I'm going to do. I'll probably get some refurbished machine from a local shop. I just don't feel ranty. There are too many up-swing things going on.

I'm still limping, but I can tell I'm getting better.

Super N is swinging between fight me every step of the way (dominance struggles) and with the need for cuddles; I think it's cute and I'm pretty patient with it because I'm guessing this is a sign of his development and not a sign of "good kid gone bad". It's interesting to listen to him make very adult statements and then, an hour later, see him freak out like a little kid over not getting his way.

We are employed.

No fancy vacations coming up (Farin does not think of going to Tahoe for a few days while I train for Deathride as a "vacation".) so I'm looking to add some fun "at home" stuff to the calendar. It always looks so wide open - but inevitably I talk to a friend to find out all the stuff I'm committed to. heh.

I like the "no drama" zone. Drama is bad for disgestion.

So maybe I'm old. I keep noticing the gray in my hair and the lines around my eyes. Ah, well. At least we had real glam in our rock in my day. LOL. When do I get my Geezer Card?
