wurkee wurkee shawp! Yay! all done. hurrah
so tonight, sew tonight in new wurk shawp! Hurrah! Castille Ascelin... okay, "shack", but it's MY shack. yayayayayayayayyay! mine!
More glee at the shack and the projects that will be tackled first in there ...
"L" shaped counter with a piece to deepen the end for a deep cutting surface. cabinets and bookcase forthcoming to complete the "U". indoor/outdoor carpet. INSULATION!!!! DVD/TV. Loft for add'l storage. battery-powered radio-controlling light switch (since it's not hard-wired). 2 full 12-plug power strips. white! AC to come later. (not needed right now. Probably be a life-saver after Mother's Day.
And, interesting, it could fit a queen airmattress on the floor. So if a guest needs to crash and wants privacy (um, without access to interior of house?), it could be a retreat. We already cracked the future mother-inlaw unit - joke. heh!
Sadly, it's wired with a phone that has intercom. So the family Can (and WILL) find me when they need to. Which really means, Da Spouse, since I sincerely don't plan on being out there while the kids are up. blork. And HE was so gleeful about the intercom. Too gleeful. But that is so overwhelmed with the awesomeness of the shawp de needle n' thread. hurrah! And I shall call it "Bawb". No ... something else ... hmm... pondering ... this requires my mind-numbing commute to dislodge an idea. Anyway, tonight, I sew! In my zone of destruction. Ta dah.
sewing: O. liked the digital shots of bodice. And the design of the sleeves. (whew!)
Sleeves are cut out. I need to embellish them with silk. I can hand finish the silk on BART over the next few days. I have a skirt to sew up and (if my victim has lining available) pleat. My goal for the week:
make sleeves
make skirt
eyelets on bodice
all handwork brought to you by BART. LOL
And then I neew to sew up my early period stuff. Chocolate brown wool over dress with full sleeves. nummy. It has been languishing in the corner. It has been quietly waiting its turn. And I need to redraw out Da Spouse's embroidery. We'll see about this early period stuff this week. spouse art my have to be at lunch or ... hmm... .
I get to descend on ..er... "visit".. Da apprentice on Thursday. A proto-apprentice is coming over on Wednesday to drop off white work and dig through books. I need to work in another visit with the quiet-fierce-one in the south bay. Probably after Investiture.
Stray thought - when I get more apprentices, how will I distinguish them here?
Da Apprentice - she who currently slaves under my yoke ...as in "joyously sings in her well being as my student". LOL
Le Apprentice? (the south bay one w/ the Frenchie name)
Die Apprentice? (who does the german stuff?)
And, of course, Le Chef.
yes, yes, excellent, muh-hahaha!

Date: 2006-10-24 04:25 pm (UTC)L'apprentice would be the French.
How about this: Aon, Dó, Trí —— Irish for One, Two, Three...
(Old Irish: óen, da, tri, ceth(a)ir. Mod Irish: aon, dó, trí, ceathair)

Date: 2006-10-24 09:27 pm (UTC)Russian (my personal transliteration) is adeen, dva, tree, chyetirye
ogun, gba, mpu, (ch)em(i)pe - using the letters that sort of show up in both alphabets (lower case script).
