My little friend

He has a twitchy nose
If you leave a cookie
He’ll run up on his toes
He visits every desk
He likes to nest in drawers
And if you leave your office
You’ll never hear his snores
P.D. had the oatmeal
J.B. had the bars
Rusli had treats and chips
So now he won’t go far
He came in with a friend
But now he hunts alone
He might go find some more
And overwhelm our zone.
The mouse traps have been laid
The desks tops have been cleaned
Metal drawers are empty
But nowhere is he seen.
I leave my window open
I say, “To circ’ the air”
But hope, in truth, my friend will come
And dodge this sticky snare.
Done to the tune of "I have a little turtle, his name is Tiny Tim..." Okay, not great. But not bad for just banging it in less than 10 minutes out while waiting for someone to come to the 11am meeting in my office.
