Zone of Balance
Apr. 15th, 2009 03:19 pmFirst, the good. I cut out fabric last night. Yay. Who knows... maybe I'll sew something this week. LOL.
Second, Super N is having a hard day. I got 2 phone calls from his school with reports of him delivering harsh words, being in a crabby mood, and expressing verbal self-hate. They weren't tattling so much as checking to see if anything unusual was going on at home. I can't think of anything other than it's spring break. I listened to him on the phone and then couseled him that people don't usually like mean people so maybe he needed to work on "nice words". I think tonight instead of going to practice (which I can't participate in because of my knee) I'm going to let him pick an activity that we can do as a family. I think we need to "reground" ourselves and have a family group hug. I think the Boot Camp Mommy Club might put me on probation, but I don't think this situation warrants hard-ass mommy stuff. Boy, this parenting stuff is hard; I wish I had a crystal ball.
Third, late breaking news, someone tried to "fraud" me last night. I called the credit card company to activate a new card. My phone immediately rang afterwards and Judy wanted me to confirm my credit card number. I asked her why she was calling me; I'd followed the directions on the bank's voice messaging system and it did not indicate that anyone would be calling me. She just said there must have been a problem and needed to re-confirm my number. I started to give it to her, but then my "Spidey" sense started to tingle and I cut myself off and told her I was not comfortable giving my number to someone who was calling me and asking for it. I'd call the bank to do that the following morning. Today the bank confirmed that no one from their organization had called me; they filed a fraud alert. They said some stuff like that was going on and they (the bank) would never call me to ask for my credit card/debit card number. You are officially warned.
