Fitness blah-g
May. 12th, 2009 08:41 amThe Land o' Crazy is all suck right now.
On the other hand, I'm getting my fitness groove on. I think I'm done waiting for my knee to get to 100%. It's not, so I'll be careful.
I ran at lunch 2x last week. I was able to do 30 minutes each time before the owie knee spoke back. But it felt so good... I was a little nervous that I'd be hating every step, but I didn't.
On Sunday I was back on my bike. (yay!) It's been about 3 months since I did Mt Diablo and I've ridden 2-3 times since I got hurt. I didn't make it up the last stretch to the tip-top, I "only" made it as far as the lower parking lot at the peak. My endurance was fine, but my knees were sore, so I opted to call that a victory and returned to the bottom.
This morning I biked to work. All the way. I was up at 3:30 am and out the door at 4:04 am. I rolled in around 7:30. Woot.
This is definitely a necessary part of my life. I spent the last 3 months working around my knee and I'm grateful I could. But I feel so much more alive when I'm in this groove.
